New Teachers to Celebrate Completion of Credentialing Process
Media Coverage Invited at May 27 Virtual Event
Media coverage is invited as the Ventura County's Teacher Induction Consortium hosts its annual Teacher Induction Culmination on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Two hundred beginning teachers will be celebrating the completion of state-mandated, on-the-job training and mentoring known as induction, which is the final step to becoming a fully credentialed teacher.
WHAT: Ventura County Teacher Induction Culmination
WHEN: Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

This year’s theme is “The Greatest Teachers,” which honors these educators’ unwavering dedication and efforts during the challenges of the pandemic. Invitees include State legislators, school board members, district administrators, program candidates, and their mentors.
The featured speakers at the Teacher Induction Culmination will be:
Jon Corippo, Co-Author or EduProtocols and recent Chief Learning Officer at CUE (Computer-Using Educators)
Mr. Corippo has served two county offices of education, including as Assistant Superintendent and IT Director. He has been recognized as Teacher of the Year, a finalist in the EdTech Digest Awards, and holds the Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Certified Innovator, and Microsoft Innovative Educator badges.
Dr. Jim Knight, Mentoring Expert
Dr. Knight has spent more than two decades studying professional learning, effective teaching, and instructional coaching. He is a Research Associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning and the President of the Instructional Coaching Group. Dr. Knight has presented to more than 30,000 educators from six continents.
Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin, District 44
Assemblymember Irwin was first elected in 2014 to represent California’s 44th Assembly District, which includes the cities of Camarillo, Moorpark, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Thousand Oaks, and Westlake Village. She currently chairs the Veterans Affairs Committee, and is a member of the Agriculture Committee, Business & Professions Committee, Higher Education Committee, and the Privacy & Consumer Protection Committee.
State Senator Monique Limón, District 19
Senator Monique Limón was elected to the Senate in November 2020 and represents the 19th Senate district that includes all of Santa Barbara County and over half of Ventura County. Born and raised in the 19th district, Senator Limón has worked continuously to serve her community as an educator, leader, and an advocate for causes advancing the quality of life in her community.
